Economic Migration

Economic and labour migrants are the largest group of migrants in the world. Almost 64% of international migrants are labour migrants who cross the borders to access job opportunities and labor market. In the recent years, number of economic migrants has been increased due to socio-economic and political crises. Economic and labour migration research group in the Iran Migration Observatory focuses on investigating global trends of international labour migrants and their effect on both origin and host countries, as well as proposing policies and long and short term plans on labour migration in Iran.
