First Conference on Governance and Public Policy

The first conference on governance and public policy was held on December 13- 14, 2016 by Sharif University of Technology, Institute of Policy, Science and Technology with collaboration of Policy Research and Policy Governance Studies. Due to the importance of governance and policy and its interdisciplinary subject, it was attempted to be represented on eighteen committees of various stakeholders including civil authorities, academic elites, social activists, PhD students, and so on. In addition, 13 meetings were held in the Central Secretariat of the Science, Technology and Industry Policy Institute to coordinate as many committees as possible. A total of 208 articles were submitted in the conference, 20 of which were presented orally and the other 80 in the poster.

The topics of the conference were divided into two groups: Policy Practice and Theory and Policy Structures by focusing on policy practice in the fields of employment, energy, water and agriculture, higher education, education, population and migration, welfare and social security, health, industry and Commerce, science and technology, values ​​and monetary system in Islam and the media were taken into consideration and the policy, administrative, parliamentary, legislative, regulatory, accountability, and transparency issues were addressed.

In addition to the Sharif University of Technology, institutions such as the Secretariat of the Expediency Discernment Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s, the Qarz-al-Hassaneh Resalat Bank, as special partners and sponsors, and more than 40 other organizations and played a key role in holding the conference.
