Classification:

Published by Admin at 2019-07-02

Abstract:

The flows of international students are strongly influenced by social and political conditions of origin and destination countries. For example, due to economic sanctions against Iran and Trump administrations’ travel ban to several countries, trend of Iranian international students in North America has been declined in recent years. In this regard, this report highlights some points:

  • In the last three years, number of Iranian international students in Canada has been increased to more than 10,000 students.
  • Total number of Iranian international students in U.S. is about 12,000 students; it is expected that this number will be declined in the coming years.
  • Due to the Trump administrations’ travel ban, Canada will be an alternative destination country for Iranian international students.
  • It is expected that Canada will surpass the US in the number of Iranian international students.
